SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS FIVE ON CHARGES INCLUDING ASSAULT, TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported five arrests between Monday and early this (Thursday) morning.
Just before 9 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 5400 block of FM 332. Upon arrival, they determined a verbal disagreement had occurred and that the reporting party had been assaulted. After interviewing those involved, the sheriff’s office placed 40-year-old Tristan Michael Hyde of Brenham under arrest. Hyde was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member.
Around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Deputy Jacob Faske initiated a traffic stop for speeding in the 8300 block of Highway 105. Upon making contact with the driver, the sheriff’s office said he had an invalid driver’s license. 36-year-old Juliano Antonio Lazcano of Houston was transported to the Washington County Jail for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
At 8:45 p.m., Corporal Luis Pizarro conducted a traffic stop in the 4100 block of Highway 36 North for speeding. The driver, 32-year-old Tori Dinae Moses of Fort Worth, reportedly did not possess a valid driver’s license. Moses was booked at the Washington County Jail for Driving While License Invalid Enhanced and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
Approaching 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, Deputy Matthew Brown responded to the county jail for an individual turning himself in on an active warrant. 77-year-old John Joseph Hoffner of Chappell Hill was taken into custody and charged with Assault of a Family or Household Member Impeding Breath or Circulation.
Shortly after midnight today, Sergeant Adam Zavala conducted a traffic stop in the 7800 block of Highway 290 East for an expired registration. The sheriff’s office detected an odor of burnt marijuana when approaching the vehicle and located marijuana during a search of the vehicle. A passenger was also reported to have marijuana in his possession. 17-year-old Michael Tremaine Brown of Summerville, Georgia was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
