UNITY THEATRE TO STAGE ‘DEAR JACK, DEAR LOUISE’ BEGINNING JAN. 29
Unity Theatre in Brenham will continue its Main Stage season with a dramatic comedy set during World War II that reminds of the resilience of the human heart.
“Dear Jack, Dear Louise”, by Tony Award-winning playwright Ken Ludwig, will run January 29th through February 15th.
Inspired by Ludwig’s parents, the play tells the true story of their wartime courtship through letters exchanged during the war.
When U.S. Army Captain Jack Ludwig, a military doctor stationed in Oregon, begins writing to Louise Rabiner, an aspiring actress and dancer in New York City, the two strangers quickly discover a connection that spans thousands of miles. As the war intensifies, their budding relationship faces challenges neither could have foreseen. Through humor, poignancy, and heartfelt honesty, “Dear Jack, Dear Louise” celebrates the courage to hope and to love, even when the world feels uncertain.
Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays. A preview performance on Thursday, January 29th will include a talk back with the cast immediately following the show, while director Andrew Ruthven will host a director’s chat prior to the performance on Saturday, February 14th.
Regular ticket prices are $30 for adults and $15 for students, with preview show tickets priced at $24. Any seats that are unsold 15 minutes before curtain are $15.
