BRENHAM PD MAKES ARRESTS FOR DRUG WARRANTS, FLEEING AN OFFICER
Brenham police reported arrests on Tuesday for drug warrants and for fleeing an officer.
Just before 5:45 p.m., Officer Eric Crosby, with assistance from K-9 Sergeant Jimmy Ha, responded to the 2600 block of Highway 36 South for a wanted subject. The subject, 26-year-old Jose Jones of Brenham, was located and confirmed to have four active warrants. They included a capias pro fine warrant for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. out of Washington County and three surety surrender warrants out of Grimes County for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3, Over 400 Grams; Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2/2-A, 4-400 Grams; and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4-400 Grams. Jones was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Around 7:30 p.m., Sgt. Ha initiated a traffic stop near the 200 block of Highway 290 East. Police say the vehicle failed to yield for approximately three miles after emergency lights and sirens were activated. With the assistance of additional units, the vehicle eventually stopped in the 2100 block of Highway 290 West. The driver, 42-year-old Daysi Teruel of Houston, was taken into custody for Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer and booked in at the Washington County Jail.
