CUBETTE BASKETBALL PICKS UP FOURTH STRAIGHT DISTRICT WIN

The Brenham Cubette Basketball Team picked up their fourth straight district win as they came from behind to beat the College Station Lady Cougars 47-43.

The Cubettes got off to a rough start as they managed only three points in the first quarter compared to eight for the Lady Cougars.

The second quarter was more competitive, but College Station still outscored Brenham 13-11 to take a 21-14 lead at halftime.

The Cubettes picked it up in the second half, which started by winning the third quarter 13-10, which lowered the Lady Cougar advantage to 31-27.

Brenham poured it on in the fourth quarter, and outscored College Station 20-12 to take the lead, and then get the win.

Antyiahna Lang led the Cubettes with 11 points, Janiyah Mathis added 10 points, and Aby Adams finished with nine points.

With the victory, Brenham is now 20-10 on the season, and 4-3 in district. They have a bye on Friday.

The Cubettes return to action on Tuesday night, January 27, against Montgomery at the Brenham High School.
