BRENHAM GAMECHANGERS RAISES $77,000 AT PURSE BINGO

The Brenham GameChangers enjoyed another highly successful installment of the popular Purse Bingo event Thursday night.

(KTEX-106)

Organizers with GameChangers say the event drew 800 people to Silver Wings Ballroom to play Bingo and participate in prize drawings for designer purses.

According to GameChangers Board President Dr. Heather Thielemann, the organization brought in $77,000 to support its student-focused events throughout the year.  Those include student activity scholarships, etiquette lunches with Brenham and Burton students, mock interviews in the spring, a senior practical skills day, the SMART-CARE Kids program through Faith Mission, the annual school supply drive in the summer, and the Brenham Big Event where students and community members collaborate on local improvement projects.

Dr. Thielemann thanks the community for all of its support and encourages keeping an eye out for volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
