WEATHER CLOSURES & DELAYS FOR TUESDAY
Local schools and offices have announced closures for Tuesday, with continued freezing conditions.
Brenham and Burton ISDs will be closed on Tuesday. Both school districts expect a return to normal operations on Wednesday.
All Blinn College campuses will delay opening until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, and all classes and activities scheduled to begin before 10 a.m. are cancelled.
Washington County offices will be closed. All essential county services will continue to operate as needed. The Washington County Commissioners Court meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed to Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
All City of Brenham facilities will be open during regular business hours on Tuesday.
Christ Lutheran Day School in Brenham, First Baptist Church School in Brenham, St. Paul’s Christian Day School in Brenham and Grace Lutheran School in Brenham will be closed.
Kiddie Korner Day Care in Brenham will be closed.
Caldwell ISD, Snook ISD and Somerville ISD will be closed on Tuesday. Fayetteville ISD, Round Top-Carmine ISD, La Grange ISD, Dime Box ISD, Lexington ISD, Navasota ISD, Anderson-Shiro CISD, College Station ISD and Bryan ISD will operate on a two-hour delay. Bellville ISD, Sealy ISD, Brazos ISD, Hempstead ISD, Waller ISD, Columbus ISD and Giddings ISD will return to a normal schedule. Texas A&M University and Sam Houston State University will resume normal campus operations and class schedules.
The Washington County Appraisal District and Tax Office will be closed. The office is expected to re-open on Wednesday, weather and road conditions permitting. The regularly scheduled Board of Directors meeting originally planned for Tuesday will be rescheduled. The property tax payment deadline remains Monday, February 2. Payments made in person or postmarked by the end of the day of February 2 will be considered timely.
The District Court jury scheduled for Tuesday at 9 a.m. before Judge Carson Campbell has been cancelled. Jurors are not required to report.
The Margaret E. Blizzard Senior Activity Center will be closed.
Bread Partners of Washington County has cancelled Tuesday's distribution.
