BRENHAM PD ARRESTS TWO ON EVASION CHARGES AFTER PURSUIT

  

Two Houston men were arrested in Brenham following a chase Monday evening involving multiple agencies.

According to the Brenham Police Department, officers responded shortly after 6:45 p.m. to a report of a suspicious group of people in the 2800 block of Wood Ridge Boulevard. 

During the investigation, police say the men fled from the scene in a vehicle, and a brief pursuit ensued.  The suspect vehicle was stopped in the 4000 block of Highway 290 East.  Police say the occupants then attempted to flee on foot, but were apprehended.

The department reports that narcotics were located after a probable cause search of the vehicle.

The driver, 25-year-old Terrion Reed, and the passenger, 26-year-old Lavoris Hughes, were both taken into custody and booked at the Washington County Jail. 

Reed was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention with a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz.  Hughes was charged with two counts of Evading Arrest/Detention, Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz., a Harris County warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and a Brazoria County warrant for Organized Retail Theft. 

Assisting Brenham police with apprehension of the suspects were the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety and Blinn College Police Department.
