The City of Brenham has contracted with Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) to conduct the comprehensive street inventory. IMS previous performed an inventory for the city in 2020.
The city says the inventory provides critical data that will help prioritize street projects, evaluate the most appropriate treatment options based on roadway conditions, and plan budgets for street improvements over the next 5-10 years.
The city adds that this data-driven approach has allowed it to make more informed and cost-effective decisions, extend the life of existing streets, and improve roadways more efficiently than through full reconstruction alone.
Residents will see the street inventory collection vehicle throughout Brenham beginning tomorrow through February 6th. The vehicle will travel at a slower speed than normal traffic while collecting data. Travelers are asked to slow down and use caution when approaching the collection vehicle.
Anyone with questions can contact the city’s Public Works Department at 979-337-7400.
