NEW HOMES, BATH & BODY WORKS LEAD BRENHAM BUILDING PERMITS IN JANUARY
Residential development and the new Brenham location of a bath shop chain led the month of City of Brenham building permits to kick off 2026.

Nineteen homes were permitted in January for $3,798,719, compared to eight home permits worth $1,424,504 in January 2025. The largest individual permit of last month was $743,000, for a home on Pecan Crossing Court.
Commercially, the largest permit in January went to BK Stringer for $374,848, issued for the tenant buildout for a Bath & Body Works at 934 Highway 290 East in the Brenham Crossing shopping center.
PlanNorth Architectural Co. was granted a $275,000 permit to perform interior remodeling of the second and third floors at the historic JH Faske Building at 114 East Alamo Street.
In total for the month of January, the city issued 47 permits for $4,964,994. In comparison, January 2025 saw 26 permits granted for $7,455,176.
