Our look into the Precinct 2 county commissioner’s race focuses today on William “Bubba” Herrin, who is facing off against Jim Chisolm, Amanda Klehm and Mark Schonefeld for the seat of Candice Bullock.  Bullock is not seeking re-election.

Herrin is a longtime employee with the City of Brenham, working in the Street Department for over 23 years.  He has also been actively involved in Washington County organizations like the Brenham FFA Alumni Association, Washington County Go Texan, the Salem Volunteer Fire Department, the Christ Lutheran Day School Board and the Washington County Fair’s Pet Show Committee.

Herrin says he wants to keep taxes down while managing successful growth in the county.  He believes his experience with the City of Brenham gives him insight into the inner workings of local government functions and responsibilities.

Herrin wishes to keep communication at the forefront of everything he does, and he says his ability to develop relationships and partnerships can be a valuable resource for the county.

KWHI is asking each candidate questions including what they believe are the main responsibilities of the office they are running for, their top priorities, and what they feel makes them stand out as a candidate.

Early voting starts on Tuesday, February 17th.  Election Day is Tuesday, March 3rd
