SPRING OPEN COLLECTION DAYS MARCH 5-7 FOR CITY RESIDENTS, MARCH 12-14 FOR COUNTY RESIDENTS

  

The annual Spring Open Collection Days event in Washington County is weeks away. 

Local residents will be able to drop off up to 500 pounds of non-hazardous waste for free at the BVR Collection/Transfer Station, located at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Road in Brenham. 

City of Brenham residents can participate March 5-7.  All other county residents can take part from March 12-14.

The event is only for non-commercial customers and will only accept non-hazardous materials.  Proof of residence and an ID must be provided upon arrival.

Any disposal of debris or material over the 500 pound limit will be charged at the full rate.  Customers are limited to one trip per day.

Items that will not be taken include oil, gas, paint, hazardous liquids, propane tanks, or loads with dirt, cement or bricks.  Appliances with coolant will be assessed a $20 removal fee.  Tires will be accepted at the normal rate.

Hours at the collection station during the event are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
