BURTON ISD INVESTIGATES REPORTED THREAT
Burton ISD administration has been investigating a reported threat at one of their campuses.
According to Superintendent Vikki Curry, the school district was made aware of a potential threat earlier today (Friday) involving a student who made a statement about potentially causing harm to another student.
Upon receiving this information, Curry said the school administration and their School Resource Officer immediately conducted a thorough investigation.
She added that the situation was addressed promptly, and at no time was there a threat to the safety of the school community.
Burton ISD reminds all parents and guardians about the importance of open communication concerning safety. If you or your child becomes aware of any threats or concerning behaviors, they urge you to report them immediately.
You can contact school administration directly, or submit a statement through the Bully Complaint/Violence Form available on the Burton ISD website under the Student and Parent tabs.
Curry added that Burton ISD encourages parents to have discussions with your child about the serious consequences of making threats, even in jest, and to emphasize the importance of being responsible and thoughtful in their actions and words.
She stressed that it is essential that students understand that threats are taken seriously and can have significant repercussions.
