LEDBETTER MAN CHARGED WITH FAMILY ASSAULT
A Ledbetter man is charged in Washington County with family assault after an incident on Wednesday.

Around 11:45 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Carson Holton responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of Dead End Lane.
According to the sheriff’s office, the victim stated that she went to the location to drop off her child when she reported being assaulted by the child’s father. The victim advised that after being struck several times, she managed to get away and went to an address in Fayette County, where she was seen by Fayette County EMS for her injuries.
After further investigation, the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Justin Jerome Hudgen, was placed under arrest. Hudgen was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Assault of a Family/Household Member with Previous Conviction and Assault of a Family/Household Member Impeding Breath/Circulation.
