LOCAL TEACHERS NOMINATED FOR BRAZOS VALLEY EDUCATORS SOCIETY AWARDS

  

Several local teachers, administrators, staff members, and coaches are up for honors in the 2026 Brazos Valley Educators’ Society’s Awards program.

Educators from Brenham, Burton, St. Paul’s Christian Day School in Brenham, and school districts from around the Brazos Valley are nominated for various awards.

Among the nominees from Brenham ISD:

Professional Staff – Sara Borchardt, Christin Cmajdalka, Robin Cox, Amanda Dismukes, Sara Dreyer, Kristi Hinze, Erin Lischka, Suzanne Maxwell, Misty McGee, Sarah Montes, Roseann Mueller, Charlotte Polk, and Kristie Sternadel

For Burton ISD, Vikki Curry is nominated for Superintendent. Also, Burton teachers Shelby Parker and Kelley Shuford are nominated in the Elementary School Teacher (PK-5) category.

St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Brenham has a nominee as well. Beth Kunkel, who recently announced her retirement after 39 years at the school, has been nominated for the Paraprofessional/Instructional Assistant category.

The first round of voting began yesterday (Sunday) and will run through March 8. Voting can be done at https://tinyurl.com/BVEA2026.

The awards are expected to be given out this summer.
