FIVE SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT
Five people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st and 335th District Court, before Judge John Winkelmann.
21-year-old Favian Sanchez of Brenham, sentenced to 10 years in prison on each charge of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4-400 Grams, a first degree felony; Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 4-400 Grams, a second degree felony; Possession of Marijuana 5-50 lbs., a third degree felony; Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, 1-4 Grams, a third degree felony; Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, a third degree felony; Tampering with Physical Evidence, a third degree felony; and two counts of Attempted Sexual Assault of a Child, a third degree felony. Sanchez was also sentenced to 298 days in state jail for Money Laundering $2,500 - $30,000, a state jail felony. The sentences will run concurrently.
50-year-old Joshua Abraham Isaac of Brenham, sentenced to 10 months in state jail on each of two cases of Theft of Property Less Than $2,500 with Two or More Previous Convictions, both state jail felonies.
34-year-old Joshua Lee Daniels of Brenham, sentenced to 8 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Deadly Conduct Discharge of a Firearm, a third degree felony. Daniels was also ordered to pay a $1,500 fine and $50 crime stoppers fee, perform 200 hours of community service, and maintain no contact with the victim or co-defendants in the case.
37-year-old Joe Kyle York of Brenham, sentenced to 5 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Continuous Violence Against the Family, a third degree felony. York was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, $100 to the EMS trauma fund and a $50 crime stoppers fee. Additionally, he must perform 80 hours of community service, complete a batterers intervention program and maintain no contact with the victim.
34-year-old Sonny Allen Bo Marks of Sealy, sentenced to 4 years’ probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, a state jail felony. Marks must also pay a $750 fine, perform 100 hours of community service, and complete a batterers intervention program and drug offender education program.
