BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO VOTE ON SELECTING PROJECT MANAGER, ARCHITECTURAL FIRMS FOR BOND CONSTRUCTION
The Brenham School Board will take its next steps on Tuesday in proceeding with Brenham ISD’s bond construction project.
Trustees will take up an order authorizing the issuance of 2026 building bonds and potentially approve a project manager and architectural firms for the bond construction projects.
Voters passed a $39 million bond measure in November, giving the district the ability to dedicate funding for capital improvements at various facilities. A project list compiled by the district’s Strategic Planning Committee identifies over 40 critical needs at campuses and district buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, flooring and roofing.
Other business on Tuesday will cover the adoption of the 2026-27 instruction calendar; the reading of a resolution regarding Senate Bill 11, relating to setting a period of prayer and reading of religious text in schools; holding a public hearing before approving the purchase of library books; and accepting a donation to Brenham Elementary School.
An executive session will be held to discuss personnel matters, with potential action later on approving contracts for executive staff.
A public hearing will take place before the beginning of the regular meeting to review the district’s 2024-25 Texas Academic Performance Report.
The board will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. in rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School. The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
