‘BLOOMSDAY’ TO PLAY AT UNITY THEATRE MARCH 12-22

A meditation on youth, longing, and the moments that shape a lifetime will be the next performance staged at Unity Theatre in Brenham.

“Bloomsday”, a drama by Steven Dietz, will play for two weekends between March 12-22 in Unity’s Studio Space.

Set in Ireland, “Bloomsday” follows Robert as he returns to Dublin to reunite with Cait, the woman who captured his heart during a James Joyce literary tour thirty-five years earlier.  As past and present overlap, the older couple retraces their steps, rediscovers their younger selves, and relives the events that briefly brought them together.

“Bloomsday” performances will take place on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.  A preview performance will be held on Thursday, March 12th and will be followed by a talk-back with the cast and staff of the show.  Director Patrick Pearson will chat with audiences at the Saturday, March 14th performance.

Tickets are $27, with preview tickets available for $23 and student tickets priced at $15.  Circle and Subscriber reservations open today (Monday), while public tickets will go on sale March 2nd.
