BRENHAM MCJROTC ADVANCES TO NATIONALS FOR TENTH STRAIGHT YEAR
The Brenham High School Marine Corps Junior ROTC has secured its spot among the nation’s best for the tenth consecutive year.
The program has advanced to the Marine Corps Nationals, one of only nine teams across the country who qualify each year.
According to a Brenham ISD press release, the team filmed and submitted its regional performance on February 6th and recently received official scores. Brenham’s Unarmed Drill Team earned the top qualifying position, entering nationals as the number one seed, while the Armed Drill Team took the number two qualifying spot.
Senior Marine Instructor Captain Jeffrey Bayse says the accomplishment is “a direct reflection of the hard work, discipline, and commitment our cadets demonstrate every single day.” He adds, “To qualify for Nationals ten years in a row speaks to the culture of excellence our students have built. They hold themselves to a high standard, and they represent Brenham with pride and professionalism.”
Superintendent Clay Gillentine says Brenham ISD is incredibly proud of the cadets and instructors. He says, ““Ten consecutive years at Nationals is not just a milestone. It reflects leadership, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence that aligns perfectly with who we are as Brenham ISD. These students continue to show what it means to represent their school, their community, and the state of Texas with honor.”
The 2026 Marine Corps Nationals will be held April 9-12 in Colquitt, Georgia, where Brenham will compete against the top qualifying programs in the nation.
