EARLY VOTING ENDS WITH BIG NUMBERS ON BALLOTS CAST

  

The final day of early voting for the March 3 Primary Election produced what are believed to be record numbers.

According to Elections Administrator Carol Jackson, a total of 1,081 people cast their ballots on Friday. The total included 882 Republicans and 199 Democrats.

For the total Early Voting period, a total 6,248 votes were cast. 5,167 of those were Republicans, and 1,081 were Democrats.

Those totals are a 63% increase over the previous Gubernatorial Election from back in 2022.

On the final day of Early Voting that year, 669 total votes were cast including 604 Republicans and 65 Democrats.

For the total Early Voting period in 2022, 3,817 votes were cast including 3,368 Republicans, and 449 Democrats.   

The Early Voting numbers also came in at 13% higher than the 2024 Presidential Election. The final Early Voting totals included 5,535 ballots cast, with 5,091 Republicans and 444 Democrats.

In that primary, 982 ballots were cast on the final day of Early Voting including 903 Republicans and 79 Democrats.
