IOWA COLONY ENDS THE SEASON FOR CUB BASKETBALL IN THE AREA ROUND

The season for the Brenham Cub Basketball Team came to an end in the Area Round of the playoffs as they fell to Iowa Colony 66-59 at Katy Paetow High School.

Brenham fought hard against a very physical, athletic Pioneer team, and trailed by only two points, 29-27, at halftime.

At one point in the second half, the Cubs went up by seven points. However, Iowa Colony battled back and re-took the lead.

Jayden Hebert was the leading scorer for Brenham with 18 points. Quincy Adams added 15 points.

Roderick Martin chipped in with nine points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Chris Guidry added nine points as well, all of which came in the second half.

The Pioneers were led by Chris Wiley's 23 points, and Bryan Baxter, who scored 16 points. Those two alone were responsible for over half of Iowa Colony's points.

The game marked the final time in a Cub uniform for Brenham seniors Chris Guidry, Jayden Hebert, Jayden Nava, Brycen Carnagey, Peyton Tuma, and Cameron Boggess.

The Cubs finish with a record of 23-12.
