BRENHAM & BURTON EDUCATORS AMONG FINALISTS FOR BRAZOS VALLEY EDUCATOR AWARDS

  

Eleven educators from Washington County schools have been named finalists for the 2026 Brazos Valley Educator Awards.

Eight of the 10 award categories are represented by either Brenham ISD or Burton ISD.  The awards program is organized by the Brazos Valley Educators’ Society, recognizing the region’s best teachers, staff members and administrators. 

Finalists include:

• Vikki Curry – Burton ISD, Superintendent
• Kristi Hinze – Brenham ISD, Professional Staff
• Michael Ogg – Brenham ISD, Campus Administration
• Brad Evans – Brenham ISD, Head Athletic Coach
• Amanda Thraen – Brenham ISD, Elementary Teacher
• Amy Avant and Shelley Kelley – Brenham ISD, Middle School Teacher
• Jennifer Ebel and Heather Kaldis – Brenham ISD, High School Teacher
• Tiffany Green and Keianna Smith – Brenham ISD, Paraprofessional/Instructional Assistant

The final round of voting is open through Monday.  Voting is available at www.bvedsociety.com. 

Awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, June 5^th at the Ice House in Bryan.
