After months of planning, the new Somerville Family Practice Clinic is scheduled to open their doors to the public for the first time this Monday.

The Family Practice Clinic is located at 17202 Highway 36 South in Somerville.

The Clinic is under the direction of Nurse Practitioner Rochelle Adams of Brenham. Adams is leasing the clinic from the Hospital District, who owns the building, and will operate it independently with a support staff.

Adams told the Burleson County Tribune that they are starting with a soft opening, and will see patients on a limited schedule.

The clinic will be open from 8am-5pm Monday thru Thursday, and 8am to noon on Friday. Adams said that the flexibility to expand their hours will be determined once the community needs are assessed.

Services will focus on comprehensive primary care including preventative, chronic disease management, women’s health, minor procedures, and telehealth when deemed appropriate.

Insurances being accepted include Cigna, Medicare, Baylor Scott and White, United Healthcare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Meanwhile, Medicaid, Aetna, and Molina Healthcare are still pending credentialing. They are also in discussions with Humana.

The Somerville Family Practice Clinic was originally shutdown in May of last year due to low patient volume, and finding a new permanent health care provider.

To make an appointment for the re-opened clinic, call 979-289-1145, or go to their website at www.somervillefamilypractice.com.
