In a press release today (Friday), the Brenham Police Department said its investigation focused on organized narcotics trafficking operating within Brenham and Washington County, Burleson County, Grimes County and other surrounding jurisdictions.

The Brenham Police Drug and Gang Intelligence & Crime Enforcement (DICE) Unit, DPS Criminal Investigation Division and Harris County Sheriff’s Office conducted a coordinated arrest operation in Houston involving 25-year-old Antwon Burns of Somerville.  Police report that he was found in possession of approximately 9 oz. of cocaine at the time of his arrest.

Search warrants were executed on February 11th at residences in Somerville in the 400 block of Casa Mia and the 900 block of 6th Street, and in Navasota in the 2200 block of Spyglass Drive.  The search warrants were executed with assistance from the Somerville, Navasota and Caldwell Police Departments.

While executing the search warrants, law enforcement reportedly recovered controlled substances including cocaine, marijuana and illegal THC products, along with items commonly associated with narcotics distribution.

Through the investigation and the evidence obtained, authorities obtained arrest warrants for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity for four individuals.  Three of those have been arrested: Antwon Burns, 45-year-old Lawanna Hawkins of Somerville and 28-year-old Breioushana Mock of Navasota.  The fourth individual, 46-year-old Antonio Burns of Somerville, is still wanted on the first degree felony warrant and has not yet been located by law enforcement.

Brenham police said the arrests made as part of this investigation “represent a significant disruption to organized narcotics distribution operating within our community and help prevent dangerous drugs from reaching our neighborhoods.”  They said they appreciate the cooperation and assistance of their law enforcement partners throughout this investigation.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Antonio Burns is asked to contact the Brenham Police Department at 979-337-7337 or Washington County Crime Stoppers at 979-836-8477.
