BLINN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL EARNED ALL-REGION AND ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

Blinn College sophomore guards Taylor Spencer and Mariah Houston were recognized for their standout seasons after being named to the Region 14 all-region and all-conference teams.
Behind the play of Spencer and Houston, the Buccaneers finished the 2025-26 campaign with an 18-13 overall record and placed fourth in the region standings.
Houston made an immediate impact in her lone season with Blinn, leading the Buccaneers in scoring at 9.8 points per game. She averaged 10.3 points per outing in region play while also contributing four assists (3.5 in region games) and one steal per game. Houston reached double figures in scoring in 20 of the 31 games she played, including 25 starts, and poured in a season-high 19 points against Tyler Junior College on Jan. 31.
Spencer, a second-year Buccaneer, averaged 9.7 points per game overall and led Blinn with a 10.6 scoring average in region contests. She also posted three assists and better than one steal per outing. Spencer recorded 14 double-digit scoring performances, highlighted by a pair of 20-point efforts. Her top performance of the season came Jan. 31 against Tyler, when she scored a season-best 23 points.
