CUBETTES SOFTBALL DROPS DISTRICT GAME TO COLLEGE STATION 4-1
The Brenham Cubette Softball Team fell to the College Station Lady Cougars 4-1 in District 17-5A action last (Friday) night.
College Station scored the first run in the bottom of the first inning on a fielder's choice to make it 1-0.
The Cubettes came back to tie the game in the top of the second. Harper Castillo led off the inning with a single. Kylie Baker followed with a single. Aldyn Jaks laid down a sacrifice bunt to move the runners up. Sandra Prieto would then hit a groundout, which allowed Castillo to come home and score to tie it at 1-1.
The Lady Cougars added two runs in the second to re-take the lead 3-1. They added one more in the fourth to stretch it to a 4-1 game, which would turn out to be the final.
Laityn Davis took the loss in the circle after giving up the first three runs. However, due to Brenham errors, none of those runs were earned.
Next up, the Cubettes have a bye on Tuesday. Their next game will be on Thursday, April 2, when they host Montgomery at Alumni Field at 5:30pm.
