SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARRESTS FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSION, TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS

  

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office made two arrests between Friday and Sunday.

A few minutes after 11:45 a.m. Friday, Sergeant Adam Zavala initiated a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Highway 290 West for a defective stop lamp.  During the stop, the sheriff’s office detected an odor of marijuana, and the driver reportedly admitted to having possession of the substance.  Marijuana was located after a search of the vehicle.  The driver, 22-year-old Roy Allen Greene of Austin, was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for booking.  Greene has been charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

At 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Sergeant Fay Janes-Busse conducted a traffic stop at Highway 36 North and Christmas Road for a defective head lamp.  The driver was detained due to various traffic violations, and the sheriff’s office reported locating a baggie of marijuana after a search of the vehicle.  The driver, identified as 35-year-old Xavier Nigel Alonzo Frederick of Caldwell, was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with No Driver’s License, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, Expired Registration and Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz.
