WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT EMPLOYEE SERVICE AWARDS

  

Washington County Commissioners recognized several county employees today (Tuesday) for their years of service.

Commissioners presented first quarter service awards to eight employees and congratulated three others on their retirement.

Service awards were given to:

  • Kimberly Kunkel, 25 years;
  • Elizabeth “Lisa” Garcia, 15 years;
  • Jonathan Williams, 15 years;
  • Darren Kana, 10 years;
  • Joshua Parsons, 10 years;
  • Heather Snowden, 10 years;
  • Landen Goodale, 5 years;
  • Kaitlyn Deramus, 5 years.

Retirees recognized were:

  • David Blakey, 2017 – 2026;
  • Eddie Ocanas, 2015 – 2026;
  • Kevin Deramus, 1994 – 2026.

Also at today’s meeting, commissioners agreed to a price increase from MEC Logistics, LLC for the road construction materials contract awarded December 16th.  The price of grade 4 precoat material is going up from $93 per ton to $96 per ton.  Commissioner Candice Bullock said from her conversation with County Engineer Wesley Stolz that this will come out to approximately a $4,500 increase. 

The court then accepted a $200 donation from the Washington County Democratic Club to the Washington County E911 Department, who is accepting donations to observe National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week April 12-18.  It also approved right-of-way permit applications for the Bluebonnet Festival on Saturday and Sunday and the Kenney Ride trail ride on Saturday, April 18th.
