Brenham police arrested one person on Thursday for marijuana possession and another early this (Friday) morning for criminal trespass.

At 8 a.m. Thursday, Officer Mateo Guillen conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of South Blue Bell Road and Gun and Rod Road for speeding in a school zone.  Police say they observed an open alcoholic beverage in plain view, leading to a probable cause search of the vehicle.  During the search, they reported locating marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver, 19-year-old Benjamin Thomas Holtkamp of Brenham, was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and transported to the Washington County Jail without incident.
