BRENHAM MAIFEST HOSTING SENIOR CORONATION FRIDAY

  

The 136^th Brenham Maifest is set to hold the first of two royalty coronation ceremonies tonight (Friday).

The Senior Maifest Royalty of Queen Stephanie Christina Donnell and King Jadon Thomas Shipley will reign over the court of “Elegance in the Elements” at 7 p.m. at Fireman’s Park.

The carnival opens at 5 p.m.  Tonight’s entertainment will be The Czechaholics from 7 to 10 p.m. and the Brown Sugar Band from 10 to 11:30 p.m.

The Junior Coronation will be held tomorrow (Saturday), beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Queen Kate Elizabeth Flisowski and King Travis Michael Hopkins will reign over the court of “Safari: A Journey into the Wild!” 

The Maifest parade through downtown Brenham will start at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow.  KWHI will broadcast the parade live starting at 10:05 a.m. and will livestream it on Facebook, sponsored by Tres Chic Boutique.

After the parade, the festival grounds will open for the carnival, music, dancing, beer tasting and games.  Tomorrow’s music lineup will include Das Ist Lustig from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Alli and the Polka Dots from 2 to 5 p.m., Isaak Klaus and the Lederhosen Junkies from 5 to 8 p.m., and 90 Proof Country from 9 p.m. to midnight.
