FAYETTE COUNTY COMMUNITY THEATRE RECEIVES BIG DONATION
The new home of the Fayette County Community Theatre is getting closer to a reality.
Thanks to a $500,000 anonymous gift, the Community Theatre has passed the halfway point of their $2 million campaign to renovate their future home.
The contribution, which is the largest in the organization’s history is for the naming rights for the building at 253 Travis Street in La Grange, which will be known as the “La Grange Broadway Theater.”
According to the Fayette County Record, the Community Theatre also received another anonymous donation to name the ticket window after Richard “Dick” Frenzel, a former board member and long- time volunteer, who served patrons at the box office.
He also performed on the stage for many years until his death in 2025.
Other naming rights remaining include the stage itself and the dressing rooms.
Phase Two of their renovation project include upgrades to the staging, lighting, equipment, and seating.
Phase Three is to buy the building back from the City of La Grange within the next five years.
