FAITH MISSION HOSTS HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS MEETING

  

As hurricane season nears, Brenham and Washington County leaders have begun meeting to make and review plans.

Faith Mission, the county’s volunteer disaster agency, recently hosted the first hurricane preparedness meeting at the Cannery Kitchen in Brenham.

County Judge John Durrenberger, Brenham Mayor Atwood Kenjura, Texas Division of Emergency Management – Region 8 Section Chief Kevin Deramus, and multiple first responders, elected officials and department directors gathered to review a 20-year history of disaster responses, identify key personnel, and make preparations for community volunteer training.

This year’s Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1st and continues through November 30th.

Leaders for Washington County, the City of Brenham, the Texas Division of Emergency Management and Faith Mission recently hosted a joint meeting at the Cannery Kitchen to prepare for hurricane season.
