JUDGE EDDIE HARRISON ANNUAL JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION TO BE HELD NEXT SATURDAY
The Judge Eddie E. Harrison Juneteenth Celebration is returning to the Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park next Saturday, June 27.
This year’s theme is, “Charting New Grounds: African American Trailblazers.”
The program includes both speakers and musical performances beginning at 11am and going until 5pm.
Guest speakers will include Dr. Christine Nix, the first female African-American Texas Ranger, Lori A. Moore Bartley, a descendant of Texas State Senator Matthew Gaines, and Tabitha W. Snoddy, a descendant of Texas Congressman R.J. Moore.
Musical performances include the Millican Missionary Baptist Church Choir, the Fantasy Band, Christina Williams, and Tamesha Pruett-Ray.
They are also going to have cultural heritage booths, food vendors, and craft vendors in the Conference Center.
