The Sealy Police Department is temporarily operating out of a new headquarters after recently discovering water damage and mold in their building.

Sealy Police operations have been moved from 1320 Rexville Road to the City Planning Building at 405 Main Street.

Public Works Director Patrick Parsons told Sealy City Council members that the damage was discovered by a computer repair technician.

There were three inches of water throughout the ductwork in the building, including one of the walls that was 99% full of water, and was going to have to be cut out.

Parsons and City Manager Kimbra Hill said that the full extent of the damage is not yet known, but they hope it will become clearer as the repairs progress.

There is no timeline set on when Sealy Police will be able to return to their regular headquarters.

Meanwhile, if you need to contact them, the non-emergency number remains unchanged, 979-885-2913.
