PLANE MAKES EMERENCY LANDING IN FAYETTE COUNTY
A stretch of Highway 71 in Fayette County ended up becoming an emergency landing strip for an airplane on Thursday.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, La Grange Police, and DPS Troopers were dispatched to a report of a plane having mechanical issues.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the plane was unable to make it to the La Grange Airport, and was forced to make an emergency landing on the eastbound lanes of Highway 71 before pulling off of the highway.
The plane landed successfully with no injuries or significant damage.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified of the incident.
