BURTON VOLLEYBALL PICKS UP THREE WINS AT RICE TOURNAMENT

The Burton Lady Panther Volleyball Team won all three of their matches yesterday (Thursday) at the Rice Consolidated Tournament in Altair.

Burton swept Gonzales 2-0, 25-23 and 25-7. Madalyn Henry had nine kills and nine digs. Natalie Hodde finished with six kills and ten digs. Laci Broesche chipped in with nine digs and 25 assists. Adison Harmel also added eight digs.

The Lady Panthers would then beat Ganado 2-0, 25-2 and 25-9. Henry had 13 kills, Harmel led the defense with eight digs, and Broesche dished out 21 assists while picking up six aces.

Burton rounded out the day with a two-set sweep over Midland, 25-11 and 25-17.

Henry led the offense with 11 kills, Kinsey Lunbeck had 10 kills, Hodde led the defense with 10 digs, Harmel chipped in eight more digs, and Broesche added seven digs plus 27 assists.

Next up, the Rice Tournament continues through tomorrow (Thursday).
