CITY OF BELLVILLE TO HOLD FALL CLEAN-UP

The City of Bellville is inviting residents to take part in their Fall Clean-Up later this month.

The Fall Clean-up days are Monday, September 21, thru Friday, September 25.

The service is for inside-the-city-limits residential customers only. No commercial garbage will be allowed.

Citizens must place their debris curbside by 7am on September 21. Trucks will run only one time only down each city street.

The City does also have some restrictions on what can be collected.

Items must be separated. For instance, put metal in one pile, plastic in one pile, and branches in another. Any refuse not separated will not be accepted.

Appliances that use freon will not be accepted unless the freon has been removed by an authorized dealer, and proof of removal has been presented.

No items weighing over 100 pounds will be accepted.

No hazardous waste will be accepted.

All trimmings such as shrubs, grass, and leaves must be bagged, boxed, or in a garbage can.

For chipping, all branches must be to a length of not less than four feet, nor more than six feet, with a diameter not to exceed six inches. Chipping that takes longer than 15 minutes will incur a fee at normal rates.

If any resident has more than a three cubic yard truck load of debris, there will be a $25 fee, or a $25 per hour charge, whichever is greater.

Citizens may bring the items themselves that meet the requirements to the Recycling Center at 600 West Nichols Street. There will be no charge during that period upon presentation of a city utility bill stub.

The Center is open from 8am-4pm each day.

For any questions, you can contact the Bellville City Hall at 979-865-3136.
