UNITY THEATRE TO OPEN NEW SEASON WITH ‘THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES’ SEPT. 24 – OCT. 11
Unity Theatre in Brenham is kicking off its 2026-27 season with big hair, big dreams and some of the biggest hits of the ‘50s and ‘60s.
“The Marvelous Wonderettes”, a musical by Roger Bean, plays on Unity’s Main Stage from September 24th to October 11th.
Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy take the stage at their 1958 Springfield High School prom to entertain their classmates while navigating friendships, first crushes, heartbreaks, and dreams as big as their skirts. Ten years later, the girls reunite with plenty of life changes, a few surprises, and a whole new decade of music to share.
“The Marvelous Wonderettes” features more than 30 classic songs like “Lollipop,” “Lipstick on Your Collar,” “Leader of the Pack,” and “Respect”.
Circle Member reservations are now open. Tickets for subscribers go on sale on September 8th, while public sales begin on September 14th.
Performances are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $35, with a special Preview Performance on Thursday, September 24th priced at $30.
Audience members attending the Preview are invited to stay after the performance for a Talk Back with the cast. A Director’s Chat with Jimmy Phillips will also be held before the performance on Saturday, October 3rd.
