BURTON CITY COUNCIL APPROVES DRAFT LEGAL AGREEMENT FOR CITY/BURTON ISD FIRE SUPPRESSION LINE

  

The Burton City Council on Tuesday approved a draft legal agreement between the city and Burton ISD.

The agreement pertains to the connection of a 12-inch fire suppression line for the school district to the city’s water system.

City Secretary Amanda Klehm said the council’s approval allows attorneys between the city and school district to begin negotiating towards a final agreement, laying out related stipulations and requirements. 

Once the negotiation is complete, the agreement will come back for final approval.  The timeline for that process is not known, but Klehm said it should be “hopefully soon.”
