BRENHAM FD RESPONDS OVER WEEKEND FOR ACCIDENT, GAS LEAK

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Saturday and three more on Sunday.

Shortly after 11:45 a.m. Saturday, firefighters were dispatched to the Brenham State Supported Living Center, 4001 Highway 36 South, for an alarm sounding.  Upon arrival, they found the alarm was reset by an employee.

Just before noon, units were called out to a transportation incident at South Market Street and East Stone Street.  They located a two-vehicle accident and helped EMS with patient care.  No fluids were leaking.  After the roadway was cleared, the fire department cleared the call.

At 1 p.m., BFD personnel went out to a home in the 1000 block of Windswept Drive for a report of gas leaking by the meter.  They arrived to find a small leak.  The City of Brenham Gas Department made location and repaired the leak.

A few minutes past 1 p.m. Sunday, firefighters were called out to the Brenham State Supported Living Center for another alarm.  The alarm was reset by an employee, and nothing was found. 

An alarm call came in just past 9 p.m. at Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building.  After a check of the area, nothing was found, so the alarm was reset.

Close to 10:30 p.m., BFD members received a report of a structure fire at a residence in the 800 block of Pleasant View Avenue.  Nothing was showing from the outside of the building.  The fire department found a burnt electric outlet and turned the breaker off to the plug.
