LADY LIONS CLUB DELIVERS SUPPLIES TO 5TH WARD IN HOUSTON

  

Last Sunday, members of the Washington County Lady Lions Club traveled to the 5th Ward in Houston to deliver supplies to families still working to recover from the flooding of Hurricane Harvey.  Lion’s members LaVerne Krumrey, Pat Lueckemeyer, Donna Clay, Lori Poehlmann Balusek, and Beverly Vesper along with the driver Ty Spivey delivered supplies including drinking water, blankets and pillows and cleaning supplies.  They teamed up with the Texas Elks Club Disaster group and several other Lions Clubs to deliver supplies to the residents.

The group would like to thank HEB and Walmart for the donated supplies and Citizens State Bank of Somerville for the trailer they used.  Members of the group said are looking forward to making another trip soon.
