The Brenham ISD board of trustees will now move on to the state level as the Region 6 representative.

The Texas Association of School Administrators created this program in 1971 to recognize school boards whose dedication and ethical service have made a positive impact on students and their communities.

According to the school district, the board has, over the past four years, developed and implemented a 5 year strategic plan for the district, hired a new superintendent, approved a plan for district of innovation, adopted new board protocols for better collaboration with the superintendent, adopted several public education advocacy resolutions, and charted a new course of district marketing, communication and outreach to the Brenham community.

Board President Natalie Lange stated, the board “is humbled by this recognition,” and it’s an honor they “share with this entire community and all employees and students at Brenham ISD.”

She also lauded the work of Superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson who, Lange says “has taken this community’s vision for what we knew this district could be and put us on the path to success.”

  1. I wish Walter Jackson and your school board could help Burton ISD. The students and staff are struggling.
