BRENHAM WOMAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT/EVADING ARREST

A Brenham woman is in custody on an assault charge.
Sunday afternoon around 3:00, Brenham Police were called out to the 1700 Block of State Highway 105, in reference to a disturbance.
During the investigation police discovered 29-year old Maria Chavez of Brenham was a Suspect in an assault.
As officers tried to detain Chavez she evaded arrest.
Chavez eventually was restrained and placed in custody for Evading Arrest/Detention and Simple Assault.
Chavez was taken to the Washington Co. Jail.
