LOCAL E.D.F. ELECTS NEW DIRECTORS
The Brenham Economic Development Foundation has announced the election of five directors to serve a three-year term on the board starting in December.
Three current directors were re-elected: Matt Bentke, Bluebonnet Electric Coop.; Chris Cangelosi, Citizens State Bank; and Jarvis Van Dyke, Van Dyke, Rankin & Co.
Two newcomers to the board are Darren Huckert, of Garza EMC and Jim Kolkhorst, of Kolkhorst Foods.
The EDF board presently consists of 16 members, with three sets of five directors serving staggered terms and the immediate past chairman.
The remainder of the board includes: Blake Brannon, Brannon Industrial Group; Tee Dippel of Brenham National Bank; Chad Gerke, The Gerke Law Firm; Mike Hopkins Jr. of Mike Hopkins Distributing; Catherine Kenjura, Lacina & Kenjura; Jimmy Lawhorn of Blue Bell Creameries; Barney Loesch of Thrivent Financial; Melissa McCune of Brenham Clinic; Arlen Thielemann, Thielemann Construction Co.; Gary Weiss, Germania Insurance, Retired; and Billy Holle-Past Chairman of the Board, Seidel Schroeder.
William Krueger and Cory Flencher will be retiring from the Brenham Economic Development Foundation. William Krueger served on the board for 14 years (2005-2018), serving as Chairman from 2011-2013, and Past Chairman from 2014-Present. Cory Flencher served on the board for 9 years (2010-2018), serving as chair of several ad hoc committees during his tenure.
Chairman of the Board, Billy Holle, thanked Mr. Krueger and Mr. Flencher for their time on the board and dedication to economic development in Brenham and all of Washington County.
