GRIMES CO. MAN SENTENCED FOR UNLAWFUL SEXUAL BEHAVIOR

(Grimes Co. Jail)
A Grimes County man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for multiple sex crimes.
A jury found Kenneth Canton Ogg guilty of two counts of Sexual Assault and two counts of Prohibited Sexual Conduct on Monday, per a release from the Grimes County District Attorney's Office.
Ogg was on trial for sexually assaulting an adult female without her consent. The victim of the assault is a family member of Ogg, which led to the filing of the Prohibited Sexual Assault (incest) offense.
Sexual Assault is a 2nd degree felony, punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison. Prohibited Sexual Conduct is a 3rd degree felony, carrying a range of 2 to 10 years confinement.
Ogg was eligible for a probated sentence, but Assistant District Attorneys Tony Dodson and Courtney Cain asked the jury to not show leniency with a probation sentence.
Judge Albert McCaig, of the 506th District Court, presided over the trial. District Attorney Andria Bender, in addition to Dodson and Cain, prosecuted the case.
Ogg will be required to register as a Sex Offender in Texas for the remainder of his life.
