J.P. KEN TOFEL RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL AFTER ACCIDENTAL FIREARM DISCHARGE

  

A Washington County Justice of the Peace has been released from the hospital, after accidentally shooting himself in the hand.

The incident occurred in the courthouse office of Precinct 3 J.P. Ken Tofel Thursday morning, around 8:50 a.m.

According to a release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Judge Tofel was handling a semi-auto handgun when it discharged, striking him in his left hand.

He was reported to have received a minor injury, which was treated at a Bryan hospital.  He was released from the hospital the same day.
