TWO ARRESTED NEAR BELLVILLE FOR HOME BURGLARY

Two men are in jail, following their arrest on burglary charges in Austin County last week.
An Austin County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling on Wednesday around Highway 159, when he saw a suspicious vehicle at a residence in the Oak Hill Community, west of Bellville. When he approached the residence, two men ran from the area.
Bellville police and other deputies responded to the location to assist. Investigation determined the residence had been burglarized, with items stolen from the property.

Two men were taken into custody: 50-year-old Daryl Hatfield of Colorado County, and 52-year-old Michael Galaviz of Travis County. Officers seized the pickup used by the two men, in addition to bolt cutters and other burglary tools.
Hatfield and Galaviz remain in the Austin County Jail, each under $240,000 bond. They are charged with Burglary of a Habitation, Burglary of a Building, and Possession of Criminal Instrument.
