HAZANA ANDERSON’S MOTHER INDICTED IN GALVESTON COUNTY

The mother of 1-year-old Hazana Anderson has been indicted on a charge in connection to the child’s death.

Tiaundra Christon
(Brazos Co. Jail)

According to the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, Tiaundra Christon was indicted last week on a charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, with the intent to impair a human corpse.

It is believed that Christon and her boyfriend, Kenny Hewett, fatally injured the child at a Houston-area motel last year and then disposed of her body in a Texas City lake.  Since the body was discovered in Galveston County, Christon’s case was transferred there from Brazos County.

While Christon has been in the Brazos County Jail for over three months, online jail records show her initial charges of Abandoning/Endangering a Child and Filing a False Report to Police have been dismissed.

Kenny D'Shawn Hewett (Brazos Co. Jail)

Hewett remains in the Galveston County Jail after his indictment earlier this month.  Following a request from his attorney, a judge reduced Hewett’s bond from $500,000 to $250,000.

Hazana was reported missing at a College Station park by her mother last October.  An extensive search followed, including several law enforcement agencies and volunteers.  Their efforts led investigators to discover what happened to the child.
