According to DPS Sergeant Jimmy Morgan, the truck hauling sand was headed westbound around 12:45 p.m. on Highway 105, when it overturned onto its side.

A large amount of sand and some diesel was spilled, which shut down the highway near FM 2445 for several hours.  Traffic was opened up to one lane around 3 p.m.

The trailer caught fire, but the driver made it out of the cab of the vehicle. No injuries have been reported.

Navasota ISD is rerouting buses as a result of the crash, which may cause delays to the Plantersville and Stoneham areas.

At the time of this posting, Sgt. Morgan said crews should have the site cleared within the next hour.
