LAST DAY TO APPLY FOR “DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS” SCHOLARSHIP

Today (Friday) is the final day to apply for this year’s Don’t mess with Texas Scholarship contest.

Scholarship applications need to be submitted online or postmarked by 5 p.m. this afternoon.

Any high school senior in the state who is currently attending public, private or home school, and is planning to go to an accredited Texas college in the coming year, can apply.

The 2019 Don’t mess with Texas Scholarship contest, in partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful and the Moody Foundation, will award one $8,000 Grand Prize scholarship, one $6,000 scholarship, and two $2,000 scholarships on June 18th.

The scholarships recognize high school seniors who do their part to prevent litter in their schools and communities, while building awareness for the Don’t mess with Texas initiative.

TxDOT’s Don’t mess with Texas program has been involved with litter prevention since 1986.  The program includes Adopt-a-Highway and a partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful, along with spring “Trash-Off” community outreach events.

To apply for the scholarship, or for more information, go online to www.dontmesswithtexas.org.
