WORK TO BEGIN THURSDAY ON WASHINGTON CO. COURTHOUSE ROOF PROJECT
Washington County will soon begin replacing the roofs on the courthouse and annex buildings.
Work crews will start on the roof replacement project Thursday. Crews will begin work early in the mornings and end late into the evenings.
Back in June, commissioners approved a contract with DK Haney Roofing, Inc. for the project, which will be covered by insurance.
Washington County Judge John Durrenberger said there may be times when Baylor and Park Street will need to be closed, but the plan is to try and keep one lane open so traffic can make it through.
People parking at downtown businesses may want to refrain from parking around the courthouse square, if at all possible. They should also be mindful of the large equipment and trucks in the area.
The renovation is expected to take approximately three to three-and-a-half weeks to complete, depending on the weather.
